Let it go and LIVE

“Unforgiveness denies the victim the possibility of parole and leaves them stuck in the prison of what was, incarcerating them in their trauma and relinquishing the chance to escape beyond the pain.” Bishop T.D. Jakes

A Shift of Thoughts

Day Twenty-Four: A Shift of Thoughts

A young man walked beside me one day and I could feel his burdens. A thought pulsated within my veins and rose like a peculiar fragrance. I shared words of wisdom with him and went about my way. He took a few steps forward and paused as those insightful words sat upon his mind. He then looked back at me as if he understood.

“If you can’t change whatever you are going through by thinking about it, simply stop thinking about it.”

Those profound words speak about the power of the mind. Our thoughts can control our physical output in a positive or negative way. As we shun away from all thoughts of negativity, our life will flow in a prosperous way.nice

Where Are You?

Your past mistakes can only limit your future if “you” allow them too. Sometimes we each have to stop and take a personal inventory of our life—similar to a doctor performing an examination, in order to determine where we are mentally, spiritually, and physically.

  • How is your overall attitude about life?
  • Are you harboring ill-feelings toward anyone?
  • Is the love you carry for others genuine or undercover envy?
  • Are you living by faith or fear?
  • Are there traces of resentment dwelling in your heart?
  • When is the last time you prayed in faith?
  • What are you afraid of?
  • What are you worried about?

There are many other questions I could’ve listed during this internal checkup. Once you go through your examination, determine which areas in your life need to be fixed and begin the process. To change means that “you” have to shift from your former mindset. It may hurt a little, but in the end you’ll rejoice because of the impact a new “you” will have in life.

Don’t Jump

Every so often you are pushed beyond your limits. Like an open wound, your faith and the ability to resist an emotional outburst, bleeds outward. It is during that moment when you must consider the outcome. If someone verbally attacked you or trespassed against you, should you step out of character and return the assault? Is it really worth it? Some people deal with psychological issues without the awareness of it. They have lived in a present condition for such a while that they’ve actually became immune to its effect on others. I have had dealings with people who yelled everything they said to someone, in a condescending way. They had no idea their speech was perceived like that. Once they became aware, they made the necessary adjustments to avoid offending others with their dialogue. We have to always take a close observation of our actions when dealing with others. So what if someone doesn’t like you? Everyone has an opinion and they may not agree with yours. Everyone is not going to like you. So, there is no need to display your frustration about someone through social media. The stronger man or woman would simply ignore all types of negativity. The Bible is our blueprint for life, and it was not created to use as a crutch to justify any ill-advised actions of retribution. Instead of jumping off the ledge of your comfort zone and acting out of character, return to your building of comfort and live on. One thing to remember is that God sees everything.

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grevious words stir up anger. Proverbs 15:1

Wrath defined is strong, stern, or fierce anger; deeply resentful indignation; vengeance or punishment as the consequence of anger.

A Renewed Mind will produce A Renewed Life

Stop trying to be like someone else. Don’t covet another person’s life!
You were not created to live in SELF-DEFEAT. Don’t allow negative thoughts to beat upon you. If you stand there long enough, those thoughts will bury you in ANGUISH.

“You are the sum total of everything you’ve ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgot – it’s all there. Everything influences each of us, and because of that I try to make sure that my experiences are positive.” Maya Angelounew
